Forgiveness and Alpha Waves

"George Gallup, in one of his Gallup Polls surveyed Americans on the topic of Forgiveness. He found that Forgiveness is something virtually all Americans aspire to --94% surveyed in a nationwide Gallup poll said it was important to forgive. But it is not something we frequently are able to do.
85% said they could not do forgiveness on their own and needed some outside help,- God's help or something outside themselves. Even prayer did not correlate with Effective Forgiveness, which is astonishing given the many Christians in the survey. Of all the things Gallup asked about in the poll, only one thing correlated with effective forgiveness, and that was 'meditative prayer.'

"Now when I see the word 'meditative' I see increased Alpha Brain Waves. When meditation is done correctly, it produces more Alpha Waves in the brain. So 'meditative prayer' would have more Alpha Waves than any other kind of prayer. Meditative walking would have more Alpha Waves. Meditative eating would have more Alpha Waves, and so on. And only meditative prayer was found, by the Gallup Poll, to be correlated with Effective Forgiveness.

"So in a sense, George Gallup has discovered intriguing evidence that Alpha Waves are related to effective forgiveness. This helps explain the lack of effective forgiveness in today’s world, because people are so lacking in alpha brain waves.

"The tests, challenges and travails of daily life diminish your alpha waves below the natural levels you would enjoy without what Shakespeare called 'The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.'(Hamlet 3/1). Most people are 'alpha wave challenged' in that they have far less alpha brain wave activity than would be ideal for them. And they have much less alpha brain wave activity than they are capable of having. Therefore people would also be 'forgiveness challenged' because alpha waves are needed for effective forgiveness.

"When I am teaching people to increase their Alpha brain waves I tell them they have to open their hearts, and they must learn to forgive. The lack of enough alpha waves in most people’s brains could explain another one of the important findings in the Gallup Poll: only 48% of the people said they usually tried to forgive others. It makes sense that without enough Alpha waves they would be wasting their time because forgiveness wouldn’t work anyway. It takes increased Alpha Waves for Effective Forgiveness and most people are way below their natural potential for Alpha Waves."

Forgiveness was not always a central theme of the Biocybernaut Alpha brain wave trainings. The development of this powerful Forgiveness theme did not come from a Faith Based approach to designing the Alpha Trainings, although it might well have had its roots in the Christian background of Biocybernaut's Founder and CEO, Dr. Jim Hardt, who was raised in the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod [i.e. fundamentalist]. And Dr. Hardt’s paternal grandfather, Henry Hardt was a Lutheran minister who married his parents and baptized him.

Nevertheless the extremely powerful Forgiveness theme of the Biocybernaut trainings came from an empirical and scientific approach to healing the hearts, minds and spirits of the people who have come for this advanced form of neurofeedback training at Biocybernaut.
