The Science of Meditation

To explore exactly what part of the brain meditation acts on, researchers at Harvard Medical School used MRI technology on participants to monitor brain activity while they meditated. They found that it activates the sections of the brain in charge of the autonomic nervous system, which governs the functions in our bodies that we can't control, such as digestion and blood pressure. These are also the functions that are often compromised by stress. It makes sense, then, that modulating these functions would help to ward off stress-related conditions such as heart disease, digestive problems and infertility.

GCI February 2011 Full Moon Synchronized Care Focus‏

As a member of The Global Coherence Initiative, I receive emails like this from time to time:

Welcome to GCI’s February 18th full moon synchronized Care Focus. In order for GCI members around the world to participate at a convenient time, we have chosen noon, 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. Pacific Standard Time ( -8 hours GMT ) when GCI members in the Global Care Room can do the Care Focus together.

For this synchronized full moon Care Focus, we will continue sending heart-focused care to the people of Egypt and the Mid-East during this time of great change.

The people of Egypt have joined together to create changes that potentially will cascade to other countries in the Mid-East. It’s important to continue sending heart energy to Egypt and the Mid-East, so that this process remains peaceful with the best outcome for the whole. The heart is what empowers co-creation for the benefit of all. Let’s radiate gratitude for the peace thus far.

We’ll do this Care Focus together for fifteen minutes. It’s really okay to stop sooner or continue longer if you choose. There will be music playing or you can mute the music if you prefer.

Care Focus – Let’s create a heart-field environment of unconditional love around Egypt and other Mid-East countries in the world for the highest best outcome for all involved. Let’s keep up a momentum of outgoing care and use your own heart discernment on how long and when you participate. Also, remember to send your heart-focused care to other stressful situations taking place throughout the world.

(After 15 minutes)

Doing the GCI Care Focus with others helps to amplify our coherent heart energy and collective intent.

Thank you for your participation.
